  • <2020 Fall> Important Information for Students

    This is Yonsei university's Office of International Affairs.
    We would like to inform you about the important information for the 2020 fall semester as below.
     
    1. On-campus Housing Application
    Application Period: June 18, 10AM(Korean Standard Time) ~ June 25, 2020
    Due to the first-come first-served application system and space limitations, students are strongly recommended to apply for housing as soon as the application period starts. 
    Please refer to the following housing website for details: http://ih.yonsei.ac.kr.
    If you have any questions about housing, please contact the housing office(skghouse@yonsei.ac.kr).
     
    2. Quarantine
    All incoming travelers to Korea must do self-quarantine for 14 days regardless of symptoms.
    Please refer to the attached mandatory quarantine instructions for all incoming travelers to Korea.
    (Student visa(D-2 Visa) holders are "Foreigners on Long-term Visit". 
    Those who arrive in Korea without a student visa are "Foreigners on Short-term visa" and will enter quarantine at a temporary living facility(designated by Korean government. It will cost 100,000 KRW per day.)
     
     
    <For students who stay in the on-campus housing>
    Students who receive housing arrangement emails from the housing office can be quarantined at the dormitory. However, he/she must check in during the designated period(Aug 15 ~ Aug 17).
    If unable to check in during the above period, he/she has to find a separate place for the 14-day quarantine. He/she can only check into the dormitory from August 31 after the quarantine period is over.
    * Extra fees will be charged during the quarantine period.  The detailed information will be announced by the housing office. Please contact the housing office(skghouse@yonsei.ac.kr) if you have any questions about the dormitory.
     
     
     <For students who stay in the off-campus housing>
    Students are asked to enter their home quarantine for 14 days. Students are asked not to visit our campus before the end of their quarantine period.
     
    Please consider the 14-day quarantine period when you plan your arrival schedule.
     
    3. Orientation
    We will have an online orientation, instead of the offline orientation, in the last week of August due to the COVID-19. We will send you an email including the detailed information about the orientation later.
     
    4. Teaching Method for the 2020 fall semester
    We understand that many students want to know whether we will have online courses for the 2020 fall semester. 
    We are very sorry to inform you that the decision has not been made yet. We will inform you once it is decided.
