In order to introduce the unbiased history of Korea to the world, “Funday Korea Networks” is organizing a Video & Essay contest on the subject of “Seodaemun Prison”. The total prizes value is 3 Million Korean Won in cash! Don’t miss the opportunity! Participate Now!

<PARTICIPATION DETAILS>

Choose your format between video and an essay

Application period: Until 2019 February 24th (Sun.)

Eligibility: Foreigners residing in South Korea (over 19 years old)

Submission Deadline: Until 2019 May 31st (Fri.)

Winner announcement: 2019 June 13th (Thu.)

 

 

Possible content topics ●

Sharing the same (historical) pain with Korea

(If you choose topic No. 1, the video should include historical similarities between your country and Korea.)

Introducing Seodaemun Prison to the world

Knowing the unbiased history of Korea

Etc.

 

How to apply

Register (or sign in) at www.fundaykorea.me and apply.

Submit a brief scenario of your video or essay via email.

Visit Seodaemun Prison (necessary).

Submit your work in accordance with the guideline.

1stPrize \ 700,000 (1 winner/team) 2ndPrize \ 300,000 (2 winners/teams)

3rd Prize \ 200,000 (3 winners/teams) Popularity Award \ 100,000 (2 winners/teams)

-Video must be less or more than 3 minutes long

-Format is free (Vlog, Documentary, Sketch, etc. All formats acceptable)

-Video can be in English or in your native language.

-English subtitles should be added.

-All submitted videos must be uploaded on your social media channel.

 

[ESSAY Prize]

1stPrize \ 300,000 (1 winner/team) 2ndPrize \ 100,000 (3 winners/teams)

3rd Prize \ 50,000 (6 winners/teams)

-Essay should be at least 1 page long (Font Size 12)

-Essay should include:

at least 3 pictures from your visit to Seodaemun Prison

Description of your emotions during the visit

Your message of hope for peace

- Essay should be uploaded on your social media or shared on other media channels in your country. (e.g. school newspaper, online newspaper, etc.)

-Essay should be either in English or in your native language, but in that case, it should be submitted along with the English translation.

 

<NOTICE>

Both individuals and teams can participate

Video and Essay copyright is equally shared by the author and Funday Korea Networks

Submitted contents might be used on Funday Korea Networks or/and Seodaemun Prison web pages

Please avoid copyrighted music or elements

The selected winners may be asked to insert the logo of the relevant organizations.

If the screening criteria are not met, there might be no winners.
