UC Santa Cruz on Native Land: Popeloutchom & the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band

In honor of Native American Heritage Month, come to hear about the indigenous peoples of the Santa Cruz and larger Monterey Bay Area, the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band. Members of the tribal band, together with staff from UC Santa Cruz and the Santa Cruz Museum of Art and History will share with us about the Amah Mutsun Relearning Program and the conservation of Mt. Umunhum, and will lead us in a discussion of intercultural environmental connections and indigenous ethnobotany in our own local communities.

Tiger Pride: Korea University’s Unique Cheerleading Culture

"Tiger Pride" is a fast-paced introduction to the most unique aspects of Korea University’s cheerleading culture. Explore the history of college cheering at Korea University and its connections to traditional Korean music and choreography. Feel the passion students have for their Alma Mater as they share their thoughts on cheering and how it strengthens their love and attachment to Korea University. Experience the thrill as thousands of students cheer during the Korea University-Yonsei University (Ko-Yon) annual rivalry games. "Tiger Pride" will help you to understand more about KU, its students, its sports accomplishments and its amazing team-spirit.
Join the event and KU souvenirs will be awarded to randomly selected participants!

Palace of Joseon, Korea University Museum Tour

Take a behind the scenes tour of the Korea University Museum and experience up close its most significant artifacts and National Treasures. Featured are historically significant paintings, scientific instruments, royal relics and maps. Together these treasures provide an intimate look at life during the Joseon Dynasty. Particular focus will be given to the famous Dong Gwol Do palace painting, the most detailed and historically accurate map of Chang Deok Gung and Chang Gyeong Gung palaces, National Treasure 249.
Join the tour and KU souvenirs will be awarded to randomly selected participants!

Welcome to the Winter Owarai Live!

What is Manzai?
Manzai is a traditional form of Japanese stand-up comedy. Two or three comedians exchange joke-filled conversations at high speed. It is representative of Owarai (comedy), and is rising as a new icon of Japanese pop culture.
At the event, students are going to show their manzai performances which they have created from the scratch. Please enjoy the performance and blow off some steam with laughter!
