Specialized Course on Cultural Heritage, Crime and Security: Protecting our Past to Invest in our Future

Content: Recalling the target 11.4 of Goal 11 of the Sustainable Agenda, that aims to “strengthen efforts to protect and safeguard the world’s cultural and natural heritage.”, the course intends to provide a fundamental understanding of heritage crimes and how heritage organisations, law enforcement bodies and judicial systems are responding to the related challenges. In this respect, the course will particularly focus on the issues of: the protection of endangered cultural property and heritage, tourism security plans, peacebuilding activities, heritage and stability policing, and countering looting.
Methodology: 5 live webinars from 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm CET time
Target audience: final year in the undergraduate studies, master students, PhD students as well as professionals who are interested in learning more about cultural heritage crimes and protection
